Why fly over Marrakech in a balloon?
From the ground, Marrakech is all noise, spices and narrow alleys. From 500 metres up it becomes something else entirely: a red city laid out on a vast plain, with the Atlas mountains floating on the horizon like a wall of snow. Flights take off in the countryside outside the city, so you see the palm groves, the patchwork of fields, mud-brick villages and, on clear days, the High Atlas peaks lit pink by the first sun.
It is also one of the most accessible balloon experiences in the world. Prices are generally lower than in Cappadocia, flights operate almost all year, and nearly every package includes the hotel pickup, the flight and a traditional breakfast — you just have to set your alarm early.
